If you have a google account on your phone, you have google calendar.
Thunderbird can be synced with Google via `provider for google calendar`

 I`m doing it and seems to work. I don`t edit TB, normally, I`m
putting the dates in on the phone which goes to google 
 end to TB. MY phone is with me at appointments etc where I`m
scheduling, thus my primary use is the phone.
