lean-energy/
Scientists have developed a powerful new technique to overcome
a major obstacle in nuclear fusion energy: the ability to
accurately contain high-energy particles within fusion reactors.
By using symmetry theory instead of the slower and less
reliable conventional methods, researchers have created a
shortcut that enables the design of leak-proof magnetic
systems 10 times faster.
. . .
STILL not sure that fusion, esp this way, can be
a real thing. The size/expense of the tech
infrastructure makes fusion more of a lab experiment
than any real world energy solution. Same goes for
massive laser arrays to implode mini fuel pellets.
Oh, and fusion is NOT radiation FREE ... just less,
shorter-lived, nasties.
And sorry dedicated Trekkies ... takes more energy
to produce anti-matter than it will yield. Not safe
to try and HOLD more than a micro-gram either ....
work out E=MC2 in megaton figures .........
My FEAR is that there`s some cheap quantum trick
that will change matter to anti-matter - and 100g
worth of test chamber will get converted on the
first experiment. That`d vaporize something, like,
Brazil ........
