run this command:
sudo apt remove unattended-upgrades
Now when you want updates/upgrades you`ll need to run these two commands:
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
I run these two commands once a month. Upgrades/updates are waste of
time for me!! I only run my machine to check emails, browsing and
perhaps shopping sometimes.
