Agreed wholeheartedly. My walking distance is down to just a few yards now
and I hate not being able to get around. The mobility scooter helps, but it
isn`t the same. Only my many tablets make life tolerable (and/or possible
at all.) I`ve spent half of the past few years in and out of hospital with
a variety of problems, and I am getting pretty fed up with it. Still, so
long as I can get from the car to the pub it`s worth hanging on a while yet
:-)
Same applies to a hotel, for that matter - Sue got a gift voucher from her
last employers when she left for a meal at a local hotel that we couldn`t
conceivably afford to even go in normally. We used that this week, and that
cheered me up no end. If anyone has ever wondered how the other half live,
I can vouch for the fact that they live *very* well indeed.
I can still drive just fine (not to the pub - I don`t drink and drive - you
spill too much of it :-) ) so I can get anywhere, but I can`t do anything
unaided when I get there - I need someone with a functional back who can
lift the scooter in and out of the car. Yep, mobility is very important.
