 For GMRS I have the Baofeng UV-5G handheld. Programming should be
similar to the 5R. What software are you using? For the Baofeng I use
CHIRP. Interestingly it identifies as "Radioddity UV-5G".

 Repeater setup depends on the transmIt and receive tone requirements,
and whether it uses CTCSS or DCS codes.

 Is the repeater you`re wanting to reach listed on mygmrs.com? I can
look it up and suggest CHIRP settings that should work for your radio.

 You may want to search Youtube for GMRS repeater setup videos. Good
info there as well.
