Maybe in the days of isolated BBSes and local bases, posting actual  
"writings" was reasonable and still semi-private.  But now that fidonet is  
literally broadcast over the internet (via the free and public web-forum  
gateways), maybe posting writings that would technically fall under the  
protection of copywrite are not a good idea. Add more insult to injury, AI  
could be "learning" from those posts and produce (or even duplicate) material  
that it finds and claim it as its own.

I suppose every post could include a dated copywrite tag.  Otherwise, the  
content is up for grabs to whom anyone wants to use it.

Personally, I would not suggest posting material that is generally  
anticipated for printed publication or for hopes of monetization.

imho, The best way to share writings would be through private channels where  
the author can track who received copies/samples.
