I`ve seen a lot of that in the past at other story type sites, although
usually new writers were picking up when the last left off and not
modifying what has come before. There also often cropped up more than
one suggestion for how the story should end with more that one ending
often included with the final draft of the story. These were short
stories though, not a novel.
