I wouldn`t say super smart, just, having made a good number of quilts,
I`ve conquered the basics of calculating number and width of strips to
cut, sub cuts needed, etc. I`ve been sewing since I was 7 years old, so
for decades now (won`t say how many-G-), taught it on a one to one basis
different times & places and made anything from curtains to a wedding
gown (plus the dresses for the rest of the party) to a 3 piece suit for
my husband and projects in between.

I`m taking a break from sewing today--made a strawberry pie this morning
and will do a batch of strawberry-rhubarb preserves this afternoon. It`s
fresh strawberry season in NC and my husband brought home 4 boxes from
the local farmer`s market on Saturday. They have to be used quickly or
will go bad so now we`re down to about 1/2 a box--just right for nibbles
over the next few days.
