Hello David!
23 Oct 24 11:26, you wrote to Ward Dossche:

I have been involved with Fido net since Hccnet later 500 net was started.
I was offered a node that later became 2:500/20, but that did not fit with
my day job at the time.
There was talk about an exhange with a Brittisch college, so I did not accept
having an node at my home.
The node went to Frank Bieri and I did remote maintenance.
At some time I also maintained 2:500/33 remotely.
The exchange did not happen and I did remote maintenance to the node.
Frank was better at chatting with users.
At some time I also maintained 2:500/33 remotely.
I was asked to run node 2:500/3 and entered the nodelist on March 30 1990.
Net 500 was sponsored by the HCC, (Holland Computer Club).
When net 500 was dissolved, I ran my own node 2:280/5003.
I went back to Fidones Volume 2 Number 44.
It gives TJ`s story about about opening HCC/FidoNet early December 1985.
At the event described by TJ, I had duty at an information desk promoting
Fidonet BBS`s as a new way of communications between HCC members and users
around the world.
In 1985 Fidonet was still 2 dimensional and the Nodelist had a different
format. Euro nodes had netnumbers in a USA eastcoast region.
Anyhow, next year March, it will be 35 years, that a computer is buzzing
24/7 in my house. Next summer I will have been involved with Fidonet
for 40 years.
Kees
