Cannot beat that as a history file I found I started in April 1992 as
2:440/103 but did run a BBS around the early 1980`s to support my 
microcomputer
distribution company MPI which started around 1974/5. It was to support the
software we issued on behalf of various US companies including Microsoft,
Digital Research, Aston Tate and many others, many of which are no longer
around (much like MPI).

BBS ran on a Cromemco System 3 running with a very large HDD in a 19" rack 
that
had 80 MB fixed and 16MB removable running under Cromix (a *nix based O/S)
running 24/7 and the same system had modems attached, one of which I connected
too via private wire to my home which was also a phone line extension to the
office so I could work from home without any customers noticing. The system 
run
our Accounting System with Sales, Purchase, Nominal Ledgers and is still 
around
today but now I have made the code open source placed on sourceforge.net and 
is
still being updated from time to time.

The BBS was connected to a network but I do not remember what one.

When MPI closed down I took the Cromeemco home and used it for a few years
along with a home assembled system running OS/2 with Adept BBS and changed to
Linux when IBM dropped OS/2.  I was not impressed by the European company that
looked after ? OS/2 and same can be said for the US one that does it now.

Pity if IBM had followed my requests and advice about taking it over and
removing the Windows crap and making it a community project it might be a lot
further on, than it is, but now it is a totally dead duck.
