Soviet Union was like an assembly line, producing "soviet people".

 Yes! Looking at someone or even worse - looking and smiling was
considered as an aggression.

 Violence was an important part of Soviet culture, from the maternity
hospital (where women were treated like shit: were not allowed to have their
own clothes, had no right to be visited by relatives and very rarely
had access to anesthesia) till the army, where conscripts were humiliated
on a daily basis (bullying by second year conscripts, officers very
much supported it).

 But things are changing. New generations are much more like Western
kids, just live in very different circumstances.

 Despite Putin`s talks about "traditional values", prostitution is
widely available (both sexes and same sex) and cheap. Even officers near
the front line have access to paid sex, many girls work there.
