 If it helps any, I`ve never used hptutil for anything. You can
probably take that out of your processing and have things work just fine.

 If you want to link, you can use "hpt link" (or `hpt link -j`
for JAM bases) - which has worked fine for me for quite some time. As
for sorting, I`m unsure what you are trying to sort (I usually leave
things unsorted so the messages are displayed in the order they are
received).
