My bad. The correct syntax is of course what Jay just told. From my config:

 filefixAutoCreate         off
 filefixAutoCreateFile     /bbs/husky/fileareas.inc

Strange. Maybe you need the line "filefixAutoCreateDefaults" too?

Try to run htick with maximum logging to see what happens.
