This is where my confusion is.  REPLACES is supposed to tell it to replace
the file that matches the string it gives.  Without it, other tic processers
*won`t* overwrite any files, and they won`t overwrite any that don`t match
the REPLACES string if it is present.

Sounds like with htick, the default behavior is to overwrite same-named
files, even when there is no REPLACES or the REPLACES doesn`t match?

That does take care of it.
