 I didn`t have -def set for the longest time and then I added it.
I`m not sure it changed much of anything other than what is output in
tparser.

I added -def to the first & main uplink for that echo, e.g:

EchoArea MIN_CHAT /path/to/area -g C -a 618:400/1 618:618/1 -def 618:400/25

When I run tparser, I see:

 So now the main node I receive messages from for this area is the
"defLink" for this area.

 It looks like it`s really only used for AdvancedAreafix which would
let your hub delete the area from your system. I don`t have
AdvancedAreafix enabled for any node, so -def really doesn`t service a purpose.
