Because it`s always been done wrong, doesn`t make it right! ;-)

 It doesn`t follow the accepted and documented standard:
http://ftsc.org/docs/fsc-0032.001

 So other editors don`t recognise this as a quoted line, so
subsequent quotes become a mess as shown above...
