 That doesn`t matter. It`s a link problem, because it doesn`t link
to the right library file. cmake should take care of that if the
right library file is present on your system.

CMakeLists.txt has these lines:

if (${CMAKE_SYSTEM_NAME} MATCHES "Linux")
    target_link_libraries(fconfig ncurses)
endif ()

Maybe that is different on gentoo? Try removing the `if` and `endif` lines...
