At my age I should know better than to totally rely on memory.  :::sigh:::

 That helps to explain my mixed memory of the tv episode with the
movie version. Despite this I still will default to the tv episode simply
because of the cheesie el-cheapo special effects. Also it took less than an
hour to resolve what took the movie more than an hour of overdone
graphics for more or less the same plot, with the same actors. Vger ...
V`Ger ... V`ger, was a nice touch although Voyager wouldn`t have existed
when the tv episode was aired.
