   I concur. That`s the most likely reason.

  However, it`s usually some crypto trader or similar who is the
hijacker. It has happened to me a couple of times that a friend suddenly
starts DMing me with recommendations for all kinds of crazy stuff.

  Reasonably easy to recognize. Unless you live in a paranoia bubble
where everyone from the Deep State is after you.

  I`ve never seen anyone doing it for bot activities, though. Not
much money to make there.
