I doubt all of the above.

I think it is quiet where you are because he didn`t kill anyone and there
are probably more pressing matters being reported.

Here, it has been in the news as, to the last report I saw, he is still at
large.  He is apparently a survivalist and knows the area (dense forest
with plenty of rock formations and caves to hide in) very well.

He is also a former army reservist.  He sent a threatening email to a
relative shortly before the shooting claiming he was going to kill a bunch
of people.  He left a rifle behind but may have other weapons.
