Well, duh.  There is "election" of the Pope and never has.

But remember that the Catholic Church **was** (and potentially, still is) part
of the Elitists who want to rule over all of us.

The Church just does it more "softly".

I actually stopped caring what the Pope says/does/etc. a long time ago and I
see no reason today to change that.
