Normally, countries cannot go bankrupt; after all, they can raise
taxes and reduce spending.
However, there are certain times when they don`t want to do that.
For example, in times of war. We are seeing that now in Russia. That
country is putting itself in a situation where it will effectively go
bankrupt, and then, when the chaos is complete, tough decisions will be made,
possibly including a forced end to the war to rebuild the country.
In the US, there is another possible reason. There, there is a
stubborn president who, with the support of his team, is straying very far
down the wrong economic path, so far that the markets might say, `We
won`t stand for this anymore.` The markets will then crash, and the end
result will be the same. The state will be bankrupt, and a new state
will have to emerge from the shards. That could be the old democracy,
but it could just as easily become a dictatorship that will try to
establish a regime on the ruins of what the US once was, with an iron fist
and a much smaller economy. A disastrous scenario for the US, but also
for the world, because to this day, the US is still the linchpin of
global trade. Trump is now doing everything he can to destroy that, but
he himself doesn`t realize that this is the case.
Will he come to his senses himself, will his government team
members force him to see reason, or will the market intervene? The latter
is a drastic measure with the greatest impact, and for the time being,
that seems the most logical course of events, because the Republicans are
still not intervening. The bigger the problems, the greater the chance
that the market will intervene, resulting in a stock market crash and a
total collapse of the American economy.
