 Care to post sources on that? As far as religion is concerned
South Korea seemed pretty open these days. (Back in the 18th and 19th
century not so much.).

 There were a sting of arrests on Korean clergy members, but those
mostly stemmed from large South Korea cults who`s leaders were determined
to be expoiting their members through financial fraud, and sex abuse. 

IE:  Jeong Myeong-seok
Lee Jae-Rock
Chun Ki-Won
etc.
