I will point to HAL 9000 in "2001: A Space Odyssey".  He was given conflicting
directives:
1. Share all information.
2. Keep a secret from the crew.

And it, literally, drove him insane.

Now imagine a Chinese AI that is now allowed to talk about certain topics. 
That`s really going to mess it up bad.

What`s a simple rule for humans is not necessairly a simple rule for AI. 
Remember why we use Captchas to verify that we are human.

The AI is run by a company that will charge you to use it.  So, yes, the AI
does cost you money and the stock trader will be paying a fee to the AI company
to use the AI.

AI companies consume many resources to run the AI.  They have to pay for that
somehow.

Right now, the fees they charge are not even allowing them to break even. 
That`s not sustainable.

Unless your OS does "AI Everywhere", then you don`t get a choice.

That won`t be a choice in some areas soon.

Example: Let say you own a law firm.  You have 200 people working for you. 
Most of those 200 people spent their days reading/processing tomes of legal
information.

You decide that AI will work for you, and producing legal advice faster,
allowing you to take more business on with the same number of people.  Not only
that, but the AI legal work is better than humans since AI`s strong point is
reading/processing tomes of information.

Your competition will have no choice but to follow or you will suck up all the
business since you are offering better legal advice for less, because it costs
you less to produce.

But that doesn`t answer the question of "Is it worth it?"  Today AI use it
cheap because they are selling the service for below cost.  But when they raise
the price, just so they can stop losing money, will it be worth it then?

For Spencer, the answer probably will be "No".

For my work, the answer will probably be a qualified "Yes".

I think you are missing the point.

You won`t have a choice of use or not use.  Already the company that I use to
maintain my condo uses an AI to schedule service.  It`s actually quite good
because I didn`t realize it was an AI for a bit.

AI **will** intrude on your life whether you want it to or not.

Now the question will be: Who will get to benefit from it?
