That has been the case for decades as we moved from mostly physical labor to

The problem is that the Left has conflated "education" with what colleges
offer.

That was pretty much it.  There was no benefit (to the people) to having the
education system federalized.

It`s actually worse than that.

The Hippies woke up one day and discovered that they were worthless people,
having not acquired knowledge or experience that was worth anything.  So they
were only able to get jobs sweeping floors, washing dishes, etc.  This hurt
them because they thought that they were much more important than that.

Then the Elitists offered they money to get a degree.  Since they were
worthless people, they couldn`t use that degree to actually do something, so
they got college professor jobs.  I always thought it funny that none of my
professors had any real experience doing what they were teaching.

This is how I can tell that the education system was designed by the Left: 
They treat people as groups, not individuals.

The Teacher Union will fight this to the death.  Because they know that school
choice means that they will either have to perform (hint: They can`t) or their
schools will die.

When I went to school (50 years ago - wow) the education system was already
working on stamping out anything having to do with life skills.  But a path was
there for the kids who were not academicly inclined.

Ah, but only in a capitalistic society.
