Backup keyboards are available...
On the Pi 500 the microcontroller is on the mainboard, on the 500+ it`s on
the keyboard PCB.  You would be advised to have a secondary keyboard plugged
into USB (or connecting to the Pi via SSH) in case something goes wrong with
the flash and the keyboard stops working.
