Bob , that would be your best bet . Surface mount the sub & you
will always be able to have access for adding new circuits when needed
. I don`t remember what all is in the main panel , since its such
a short run maybe doing a 100 A feed to the sub should cover the
next 20 years down the line as far as having available power .
