The director of the Drop-in Centre in Calgary told me not to jump to
conclusions about these people. He told me of the horrors that many had
suffered that essentially fried their minds.
On top of that, about 35-40 years ago, many right wing governments,
including Alberta, closed mental hospitals turfing out the inmates who
ended up on the streets.
Damned if I know what the solution is.
