Yes. It`s weird, unless...

The *longer* his political opponents keep him out and politically 
viable--or semi-viable--the longer the GOP will remain a weak sister in 
the polls.

Whatever they do, they do not want him thrown in the slammer, to die in 
quiet obscurity like Bernie Madoff.
