fidonet is just a handful of people.  not worth joining.
just get a feed from someone else.  you can get it via nntp from vert like i do.

 because that`s how it`s setup to be. it`s not really difficult.
i`ve set it up multiple times and i`ve fixed other people`s setups
several times.
