Subject: areafix question - requesting upstream echoes?

I`ve got downlinks in region 10 and elsewhere. I want them to be
able to request message echoes from me, and if I don`t carry them, to
pass the request on to my uplink and have that feature turned on.
For a downlink to be able to enter an areafix request for an echo
I don`t carry, and for sbbsecho to pass it along to uplink, does
that echo need to be in *my* backbone.na file? I`m thinking of a
scenario where there`s a new echo that my uplink has defined, but I don`t
have it in my backbone.na yet. Would that request go through or fail?
