I don`t know what the difference is between ISO, IBM and US7.

It looks like a mess to me.

 I`d like to drop all of that and go with utf8 since I think that
is what we all have in common.

 Wait a minute. What about all these retro systems. Is utf8 doable
for them. Maybe not.
