Our school district is roughly 3.5 x 5 miles. Most of the kids live in
the older neighborhoods, less than 1.5 miles from their school.
Yesterday we walked past the line of parents` cars waiting to pick up
their suburban princes and princesses at the school closest to us. There
were at least 75 cars queued up, and at least 8 buses in their separate
line. Looks to me like no more than a couple dozen kids walk or ride
bikes. This is in the sixth safest community in Ohio. Go figure.
